The Chronomat itself is a cornerstone in Breitling’s modern history, launched in 1984 during the era of ultra-thin quartz watches, it reasserted the brand’s commitment to bold, mechanically driven chronographs and marked Breitling’s centenary with a return to form. This 42mm model features a slate dial set within a titanium and 18k red gold case, giving the watch a refined yet purposeful feel. The unidirectional bezel is two-tone, and the chronograph hand carries a subtle Triumph shield counterweight. A “Triumph Edition” engraving marks the caseback, while the perforated calfskin strap echoes the detailing found on Triumph’s limited-run Speed Triple RR motorcycle, only 270 of which will ever be produced. This model is powered by Breitling’s in-house B01 movement. It’s an eye-catching, high-spec take on one of Breitling’s most important modern designs.
