The Rolex 116520 is an important piece of horology as it was the first Daytona the run on a calibre 4130 movement developed and produced entirely in-house. Before the invention of the calibre 4130, Daytonas were equipped with a Zenith El Primero movement. The ref. 116520 also notably features an-steel finish, including the Tachymeter bezel.
The example that you see here today pairs the steel finish with a stunning black dial topped with silver chronograph registers, luminous plots, and central sweep hands. As a newer-preowned Rolex, this ref. 116520 also features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal over the dial, an engraved rehaut, and a secure Oysterlock clasp. I just received my Daytona. Its a dream come true. I am a big race fan and have watched many accomplished drivers receive their Daytona on the podium. I will never get that chance but a guy can dream. Its my 60th this year and so I treated myself. I gave it to my wife to give back to me for my birthday. Win Win. The watch is in great shape with the box, hang tags and manuals. Since this is my first Rolex there was no way to get a brand new one (two year wait fro repeat customers) so I started looking. Bob's had a very fair price and offered me the watch I wanted in the condition I required with all the Rolex packaging. I shopped around and Bob's was the best.
