In the past, hand-wound Rolex watches have been largely overlooked by avid collectors who prefer the convenience of an automatic movement. However, there are many notable benefits of a manual-winding movement to consider, such as an increased power reserve and a slimmer profile which allows for a thinner case. The Rolex 6144 Rolex Oyster Royal runs on a manual-winding movement and also offers a distinctively vintage feature set that includes a dial topped with older-style hour markers, sword-shaped hour and minute hands, and a long, blue seconds hand. The movement and dial are protected against moderate wear via a stainless steel finish and an acrylic crystal.
