On this episode of Bezels and Brews, we head to Orange, California to meet up with Nicola Angiuli. You might not know Nicola by name; however if you are a serious oenophile, there is a pretty good chance that you have had his wine. Nicola is the Co-Founder of Francoli USA, one of America’s leading importers and suppliers of fine Italian wine and spirits.
Nicola Angiuli and Francoli USA
Headquartered in Orange, California with bi-coastal warehouses, Francoli USA boasts a broad portfolio of exquisite Italian wines and spirits. Through strong partnerships with producers in Italy, Francoli USA works with a variety of manufacturers, from well-established distilleries to some of the finest boutiques in the world. In addition to the wine and spirits side of its operations, Francoli USA also operates a restaurant in Orange, California called Francoli Gourmet, which features an adjoining specialty-foods shop that offers a variety of gourmet goods.
Nicola Angiuli is best known for having an affinity for fine wine and food; however, he also happens to be a passionate watch collector. While he now owns a number of remarkable timepieces, one of the most important watches in his collection is his Rolex Submariner reference 16610. Although the watch is not the rarest or expensive timepiece in his collection, Nicola’s Submariner holds a significant amount of sentimental value to him, and has been a faithful timekeeping companion through days at the beach, long hours in the kitchen, and even an incident at the Beverly Hills Rolex Service Center.
