Win The Watch at Rolex 24
Recently we found ourselves at Florida’s famed Daytona International Speedway taking the white gold Rolex Daytona 116509 for a spin at the Ferrari World Challenge Finals. But the real action at Daytona is coming up on January 28-29. The 55th annual Rolex 24 at Daytona, one of the world’s most famous endurance races, will take place. Rolex has been sponsoring the race since 1991, and class winners receive a custom engraved stainless steel Daytona. This year they’ll get the coveted new Daytona 116500LN with the Cerachrome bezel, an even more desirable prize.
Daytona 116500LN is the trophy and every team wants to leave with this on their wrist.
This year, at Rolex 24, marks the official competition debut for the Mercedes-AMG Customer Sports program at Daytona, and the trio of Mercedes-AMG GT3 teams racing in the GT Daytona class are looking to go home with their wrists a little heavier. So far they’ve logged more than 2,000 miles on the track in preparation for the big event. At the recent three-day “Roar Before the Rolex 24”, a mandatory session for all teams competing in the race, Mercedes-AMG GT3 IMSA entries from AMG-Team Riley Motorsports, WeatherTech Racing and SunEnergy1 Racing made an impressive showing.

They’ll be looking to beat last year’s winners who crushed rivals in an Audi R8 LMS GT3, with their Mercedes- AMG GT3 cars, based on the AMG GT S road car and equipped with a hand-built, naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V8 engine. They’ll also face stiff competition from other ridiculously fast racers like the Porsche 911 GT3 R, Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Ford GT Eco Boost, and Ferrari 458 GT3. Rolex will also award Cerachrome Daytonas to winners in the Prototype (P), Prototype Challenge (PC), and GT Le Mans (GTLM) classes, all highly competitive races that can make or break a manufacturer’s reputation. So win the race, and the world’s your oyster – and so is your watch (get it?).
