Rudolph’s Nose Has Nothing on These Red Watches

Paul Altieri

We’re not trying to pick on poor Rudolph here — but, these brilliant red watches make that little reindeer’s nose look like a flickering Christmas bulb in comparison. Here, we’ve gathered just a handful of our favorite red watches keeping every luxury watch collector in mind. Whether you prefer something in your face, understated or totally sporty — we’ve got you covered. Now, you just need to hope old Saint Nick has you on his nice list this year.

Hublot Big Bang Unico Red Magic

We obviously couldn’t make a holiday list featuring red watches and *not* feature the Hublot Big Bang Unico Red Magic. Come on — just look at this thing! This timepiece is probably the best example of a red watch out there, and most definitely one of the most in-your-face designs, too. Now, this watch isn’t for everyone, but for those who want to get into the holiday spirit with in a big way, this large 45mm watch will do the trick. From the polished red ceramic bezel and case to the matching red hour markers, hands and black and red structured lined rubber straps — this watch makes a serious statement.

If you’re a fan of golf, this Tudor Tiger Chronograph is for you. A watch inspired by Tiger Woods.

Tudor ‘Tiger’ Prince Date with Red Dial Ref. 79280

Chris Kringle would approve of this crimson dial, don’t you think? That spectacular red color is totally captivating — almost making you overlook the beautiful steel case (which is in great shape for a 20-year old watch), the engraved tachymetric scale and those wonderful subdials and date feature on this chronograph. The watch sits pretty on the wrist, but using the chronograph for what it is for is a completely different story. Up at 12-o’clock you’ll also notice ‘Tiger’ sprawled across the top. It’s not a nod to the animal, but rather Tiger Woods, who was wildly popular in the late 1990’s when this watch was released. Now, two decades on, this watch is just as desirable.

Cartier Rose Gold De Santos with Red Strap

For those looking for a more subtle nod to the festive holiday season, we suggest the timelessly elegant and ever-handsome Cartier De Santos. The epic 39mm rose gold frame is unexpected but beloved, and we love how it’s been dressed down with a matching bright red leather strap in this model here. The color really brings out the warm tones of the precious metal. But, the frame and that silvered opaline dial accented with blue-steel, sword-shaped hands will also look stellar alongside a classic navy or brown leather strap the rest of the year.

Omega Speedmaster Red Co-Axial Chronograph

For the guy who likes to whip around as fast as Santa’s sleigh, the red Speedmaster Co-Axial Chronograph is kind of the perfect choice. That awesome, bright red dial with matching tachymeter markings — accented by black subdials — is totally sporty and festive at the same time. We love the black rubber strap on this model too — featuring the classic ‘Speedmaster’ text in matching red. The specs of this watch are just as impressive as it’s looks — the calibre 3330 featuring the date, subdials that can count 30-minutes and 12-hours and water resistance up to 100m.

NOMOS Ahoi Neomatik Siren Red

NOMOS Ahoi Neomatik Siren Red

All we need to tie this look together is a Santa suit and sleigh. The NOMOS Ahoi Neomatik in Siren Red is absolutely striking — the clean modern lines of this Glashuette timepiece arguably defining it even more than it’s unique coloring of bright red and crisp, pale gray. We love NOMOS watches because they combine the best of modern watch design alongside the storied tradition of watchmaking — and this stainless steel, 36.3mm is no exception. While the color of this timepiece makes it festive, there are also dozens of other details to enjoy — from the rhodium-plated hands with superluminova inlay to the orange second hand, sapphire crystal back that shows off the automatic caliber DUW 3001, and the 200m water resistance.
