And <\/span>Officine Panerai<\/a><\/span>, the famed Swiss-Italian watchmaker that\u2019s part of the Richemont portfolio, has come up with one of the coolest ways to tick all these boxes that we\u2019ve seen so far.<\/span><\/p>\n

Survival Instruments for Modern Heroes<\/b><\/h2>\n

We\u2019re talking about the \u201cSurvival Instruments for Modern Heroes\u201d event the brand just staged at the Minsheng Art Wharf in Shanghai, epicenter of one of the most important markets for high end watches these days. For the impressive happening, Panerai recreated an underwater labyrinth complete with aquatic creatures and deep sea caverns to highlight its extremely capable diving watches and chronographs, such as the<\/span>\u00a0Submersible<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a clever combination of interactive and animated installations covering more than 8,000 square feet, the brand has simulated a 360\u00b0 underwater experience that included sharks, shipwrecks, and other hazards and wonders of the deep. <\/span><\/p>\n

Understanding Modern Heroes<\/b><\/h2>\n

\u201cOnce you have a clear understanding of the modern hero, thanks to [Panerai] brand\u00a0<\/span>ambassadors like explorer Mike Horn and free diving champion Guillame N\u00e9ry,\u00a0<\/span>our mission is to build a tailor-made universe around the concept,\u201d noted Alvaro\u00a0<\/span>Maggini, who became Panerai\u2019s first-ever Creative Director in February.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI also want our guests, accustomed as they are to luxury and comforts, to experience something truly rare in the modern world: the epic. They\u2019ll need to use our survival instruments if they want to overcome the challenges we\u2019ve set for them.\u201d Luckily, there was also a bar built into a rocky crevice so that the assembled VIPs wouldn\u2019t get too thirsty on their perilous quest.<\/span><\/p>\n
