With Baselworld and SIHH losing a lot of ground, the opportunity for other, more consumer-friendly watch fairs to gain market share increases daily, and WatchTime New York is looking to pick up some of the slack. Billing itself as America\u2019s largest luxury watch<\/a> event, WatchTime New York will stage its fifth event, which will be open to the public October 25-26.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"WatchTime<\/p>\n

WatchTime New York: Bach and Bigger than Ever<\/b><\/h2>\n

This year will have a record 37 watch brands participate. The company also publishes WatchTime Magazine, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and the New York event started as a real-life expression of its content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s edition kicks off with a cocktail party and display of made-in-America timepieces, one-of-a-kind wristwatches, limited-edition models, and million-dollar works from brands such as Omega, Breguet, Grand Seiko, MB&F, RGM, Montblanc, Greubel Forsey, and more. The likes of Stephen Forsey, Romain Gauthier and Christophe Claret will be in attendance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"WatchTime<\/p>\n

The next day is devoted to industry experts, with panel discussions including The Chronograph 101, The Golden Age of Watchmaking: Past or Present?, and What Makes Young Collectors Tick. There will also be a presentation on the latest watch world novelties. And of course luxury watch brand representatives will be on hand to show off their wares and hopefully attract a few new customers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The venue is Gotham Hall in Midtown Manhattan. \u201cWe are looking forward to another banner year at WatchTime New York, as year after year we see more attendees and more brands signing on than ever before,\u201d WatchTimes publisher Sara Orlando says. \u201cThe WatchTime team is proud that the event has become an institution for the industry, for collectors, and for the city of New York, and we can\u2019t wait to see what year five will bring.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Watch brands taking part in this year\u2019s show include A. Lange & Sohne, Bell & Ross, Blancpain, Breguet, Bremont, Christophe Claret, F.P. Journe, Glash\u00fctte Original, Grand Seiko, Greubel Forsey, MB&F, Montblanc, Omega, Oris, and Zenith along with a host of smaller independent watchmakers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
