The pricing analysis is based on completed Bob&#8217;s Watches transactions up to October 2026, excluding any canceled or returned orders. It does not use current asking prices. Instead of order counts, we provide medians and ranges. Also, a median is simply the middle value, not a quoted figure; for instance, a 16610 with sharp lume, its original bezel insert, and the full set of papers sells well above the median, while one that has been polished sells below it. Rolex stopped making it in 2010, and it has sold more than any other model since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why does a watch nobody can buy new beat the entire current catalog? It&#8217;s one of the most affordable ways to get a sapphire-crystal Submariner Date from the brand&#8217;s best-loved era. It wears slimmer than the current models, and the aluminum bezel develops a certain appearance that a ceramic insert never can. People who try it side by side with a modern Sub usually cease to ask which is &#8220;better&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The market has noticed. If you ask ten friends who own watches to name &#8216;the Submariner,&#8217; most of them will identify this watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the pre-owned side, it sold at a median of $15,495 during the period, up about 3 percent from $15,195 in 2025 to $15,695 in 2026. Steady rather than dramatic, which fits the watch. This is the Submariner people choose when it&#8217;s going to spend more time under a dinner jacket than a wetsuit, and the blue-on-gold combination reads dressier in person than any photo suggests. Between this watch and the 16613, two-tone accounted for roughly a third of all our completed Submariner sales. The 124060 sold at a median of $13,895 in the period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also showed the steepest price increase among the top five, with the median price rising from $13,595 in 2025 to $14,645 in 2026, a rise of around 8 percent. This fits what we see at the counter: the no-date Sub has become the favored choice among connoisseurs, and customers now ask for it by name after reading about it. The Hulk recorded the highest price appreciation of any Submariner reference in our data. Its median increased from $20,095 in 2025 to $21,995 in 2026, up about 9 percent, and stood at a median of $20,595 over the entire period. The discontinuation in September 2020 had the same effect on the Hulk as it had on the 16610 ten years earlier, merely at twice the price. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobswatches.com\/rolex-starbucks-1.html\">Starbucks collection<\/a>, which is the current-production successor to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobswatches.com\/rolex-hulk-1.html\">Rolex Hulk watch<\/a>, sold at a median of $15,995, and the 116610LN at $12,495, which, in a quiet way, makes the earlier-generation ceramic Sub one of the better value investments on this page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The takeaway: hype and demand overlap, but they aren&#8217;t the same thing.
