Panerai has recently announced the release of two new gold timepieces (PAM1041 and PAM1042)<\/span>. The two new watches, part of the brand<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s thinner-cased Panerai<\/a> Luminor Due collection, are ‘Goldtech’ models, so-called because of their use of a proprietary 18k gold alloy <\/span>\u201c<\/span>notable for its high percentage of copper as well as the presence of platinum<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Panerai Luminor Due Goldtech<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The watches, sized at 42mm, are available with either a <\/span>black <\/span>dial <\/span>with a satine\u0301<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>soleil finish and sandwich structure (PAM01041), or <\/span>in <\/span>white with luminous printed Arabic numerals (PAM01042).<\/span> The Luminor Due design was launched in 2016 and is intended to cater to all those who wanted the look and feel of a Panerai Luminor without its traditionally bulky case.<\/span><\/p>\n

Panerai calls the Luminor Due <\/span>\u201c<\/span>a<\/span> careful custodian of elements which have re-emerged from history, but reassessed in its volumes and reinterpreted in its proportions<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d <\/span>The Goldtech pieces feature a <\/span>case, bezel, <\/span>signature <\/span>Safety Lock crown <\/span>guard,<\/span> and buckle <\/span>all crafted from the 18k alloy. The copper in its composition adds intensity and depth to its warm color, while <\/span>the platinum lower<\/span>s<\/span> the tarnishing effects of oxidation<\/span> that can discolor gold pieces over time. <\/span><\/p>\n

The new Goldtech Luminor Due watches are powered by Panerai<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s new <\/span>Caliber P.900<\/span> automatic movement. Sized for the Due<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s distinctive case with a <\/span>thickness of just 4.2mm<\/span>, it is one of the brand<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s thinnest automatic movements, and sits on full display through the exhibition sapphire caseback.<\/span><\/p>\n

De<\/span>veloped and assembled <\/span>entirely <\/span>at the Panerai Manufacture in Neucha<\/span>\u0302<\/span>tel,<\/span> the Cal. P.900 c<\/span>ombines the functions of date, small seconds, and a power reserve of three days, despite its small dimensions.<\/span> The new Luminor Due watches are w<\/span>ater-resistant to 3 bar (a depth of about 30 met<\/span>ers or about 98 feet<\/span>)<\/span>, which suggests that the Due pieces are more for dress than diving. Another hint of this is the fact that they come s<\/span>upplied with<\/span> elegant and<\/span> interchangeable alligator leather straps fitted with Panerai’s <\/span>Quick Release system<\/span> <\/span>and Goldtech buckles. <\/span>The <\/span>PAM01041<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s strap <\/span>is black with tone-on-tone <\/span>stitching while the<\/span> PAM0104<\/span>2<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s strap is<\/span> dark brown with beige s<\/span>titching.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
