The Explorer II was developed in the early 1970s, bringing with it a feature set that is ideal for working in the dark for long periods. As such, the case is equipped with a fixed 24-hour bezel as well as a dial topped with contrasting luminous hour markers and hands. Both of these features allow the wearer to accurately track day and night hours while working in dark environments, such as caves, Arctic regions, or volcanos. The ref. 216570 is a newer addition to the Explorer II line, coming to market 40 years after the release of the inaugural model in 2011. As a nod towards the original 1970s Explorer II, the dial is topped with a similar orange 24-hour hand. This preowned Rolex also boasts many of the modern amenities that collectors seek, such as a larger "Maxi" dial display, 904L stainless steel, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal over the dial, and a newer calibre 3187 perpetual movement.

Exceptional value and quality, hard to find this particular year.
I've had my Explorer II for a little over a month now. I love how its low profile and light weight don't get in the way of my active lifestyle. Bob's offered this watch at a price I just couldn't say no to, and the customer service was top notch. The Explorer II is sensible and looks stunning! I couldn't be happier with this purchase!
