The Rolex reference 1675 was launched around 1959 as the successor of the reference 6542. Early examples, such as the present watch, featured Glossy Gilt Dials. Also, the steel insert did not carry radium, which by then was considered a health hazard.
The present watch is a stunning example of an early reference 1675. Manufactured only a few years after the launch of this reference, this example features a black lacquer dial that is still incredibly glossy, and mirror-like in its finish. It furthermore features a gilt hand set, which was only fitted to the earliest examples and is especially desirable today. All other details are correct, including the small-tipped 24 hour hand and bezel insert. The inside of the case back is stamped for the first quarter of 1963. These attributes are very sought after with collectors, especially when one considers the strict standards in watch collecting today.
The case is well-preserved in excellent condition and still displays its original factory bevels. The slightest polishing would have dulled the facets on the crown guards, yet this example remains crisp and sharp to the touch.

The whole transaction process with Bob's is always top notch. The vintage watch was functioning as expected, the case is relatively strong with minimal polishing, and the dial is a beautiful service dial as expected.
I really like this beautiful 1675 with fuchsia bezel.

I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
