| Case: | Great stainless steel case that has visible wear and has been polished previously. Black bezel insert is in great condition and shows surface scratches. The pip on the bezel at 12 is a later replacement. Inner caseback is stamped 5512. Serial and reference numbers are crisp and well defined. Acrylic crystal shows light surface wear. |
| Dial: | The dial is in overall great, honest condition with some patina throughout. The top layer of gloss has very slightly cracked and at certain angles you can see the spiderweb effect. This is hard to tell from the photos. The lume on the dial has aged to a lovely toasted almond color. The center of all the lume plots is a bit lighter in color than the outer part, this is not uncommon for this era. The lume in the hands has been color corrected and is a bit lighter in color than the lume on the dial. The hands have developed patina. |
| Bracelet: | Very good stainless steel 93150 Oyster with 11 links, 580 end links and divers extension. The clasp is stamped "L7" indicating it is from 1987 which matches the case number. The bracelet and clasp show signs of wear and scratches and has some stretch. |

Vintage Rolex Submariner 5513
Rolex made the reference 5513 from around 1962 to 1989 and here is a later example from circa 1987. This watch has aged very nicely from the lume to the dial and upon further inspection of the dial it has what collectors call a "Spider dial." The top layer of gloss on the dial has cracked ever so slightly making it look like a spider web, hence the nickname. This used to be seen as a defect and is now sought after by collectors. In the world of watch collecting rarity is a big factor and when dials age like this it makes them essentially unique because no two will age exactly the same.
