Vintage Watch Condition Examination:
This GMT-Master is in great vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The case is in good condition with scratches, wear, and some nicks. The case shows some wear between the lugs. The service blue-back bezel is in attractive condition with some wear and scratches throughout. The dial is in overall great condition with light patina. The lume on the dial have developed patina and aged to an attractive cream color. The hands have developed patina and the lume in the hands has aged close to the color of the lume on the dial. The minute hand has a spot of lume repair in the center and the GMT hand has a bit of dark patina at the tip of the lume. The American Jubilee bracelet is in great condition with some scratches and wear, it has stretch between the links which is common for this type of bracelet.
Description: Vintage Rolex GMT-Master 1675 "Pepsi"
The GMT Master is Rolex’s signature pilot’s watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It’s one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because it’s instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards. Rolex initially used glossy dials in the 1675 until around 1966 and switched to matte dials, like the example we have here.
This circa 1969 example is in overall beautiful and honest condition. This watch has a classic GMT vibe with its vibrant "Pepsi" bezel and jubilee bracelet. Collectors refer to this dial variation as a Mark I "Long E." When looking at the "Rolex" text on the dial the "E" has a longer central bar (same length as the top and bottom ones) and that is where the nickname comes from.

I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
