Many avid Rolex collectors agree that part of the appeal of collecting vintage watches is hunting down a particular reference or feature set. Collectors of all budgets will find the Submariner 5513 particularly intriguing as it boasts a longer production run and, as a result, a large selection of variations. For example, early models featured a glossy dial, which was then replaced with the matte variation that is presented here today around 1966. The depth rating also changed from meters first to feet first during this time. Other upgrades include a larger luminous display and changes to the font on the dial.
It’s also important to note that the Submariner 5513 was produced alongside the similar ref. 5512, with the main difference being that the ref. 5512 was COSC certified and the ref. 5513 was not. As a result, the Submariner 5513 enjoyed a more affordable price as well as a longer production run.
The Submariner 5513 presents in a stainless steel finish that appears to have been polished and shows some signs of light wear. The dial is the feet-first matte variety with two lines of text to signify that it is not chronometer-rated, and displays the time via Tritium lume that has aged to a vanilla patina. This timepiece was likely a treasured companion for many years, which makes it all that more desirable among avid Rolex collectors.

The condition of this vintage Rolex 5513 is nicer than I anticipated based on the age. Your staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help make sure I had enough links in the band.
Just the way I expect it to be, excellente😊 This is my second purchase from Bob’s Watches , the service is great .
