Many avid Rolex collectors seek the vintage Datejust for the history and distinct character that it offers on the wrist. While the case measures a traditional 36mm that can be found on references old and new, it's thickness is slightly more robust, measuring approx. 11.5mm thanks to the addition of an acrylic crystal. The crystal itself sits slightly higher on the case and is accompanied by a Cyclops magnifier over the date. The Pie Pan dial is typically only found on vintage or used Rolex references and is topped with sleek gold indices and hands, and features a unique design that slopes down at the edge of the dial.
*All Pre-Owned Rolex watches are guaranteed to be 100% genuine and certified authentic. All watches are shipped to fit the average size wrist (7 1/4" - 7 1/2" for men and 6 1/4" - 6 1/2" for women). Additional links can be purchased if needed.
The whole process was seamless and as promised. The watch was in perfect condition and the presentation and packaging was outstanding. The Affirm process was seamless as well. I would definitely recommend Bob's Watches and do business with them again.
Stunning good looks. The slate dial is a bit more understated than the silver, gold, or black datejust dials, which I feel is important. The dial color pairs well with the bracelet or any brown or black leather straps.
Serial Number 2801936 is the one that I own. It is a complete set with box and papers. Unlike the version, shown in the photo, I have no luminescent hands. Great timepiece and has increased in value from the $255 Price Tag from June 28,1972. P.S. Not For Sale.
