In the 1990s Rolex had a very fine selection of watch models from the versatile Submariner to the classic DateJust, but they hadn’t introduced a new model in quite a while. At this point the Submariner and Sea-Dweller models had become extremely popular with the public even among those who didn’t dive and only used it to go a fraction of the depth it was built for.
