Vintage Watch Condition Examination:
This Rolex watch is in great, honest vintage condition. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear; it has not been polished. The Pepsi bezel is in great condition; the colors have faded giving it a great vintage look. The dial is in great condition with an even dark grey throughout. The lume plots on the dial have aged to an attractive pale green color and still hold a glow; some of the lume show signs of degradation. The hands have developed patina and the lume in the hands matches the lume on the dial nicely in color and glow. The Jubilee bracelet is in great condition overall with normal wear and light stretch between the links.
Description: Vintage Rolex GMT-Master 1675
The Rolex 1675 enjoyed a long production run, spanning from the late 1950s until the 1980s. Its massive success also lead to numerous variations, including either a glossy or matte dial, a two-tone or all-black bezel, and either a Jubilee or Oyster bracelet. The GMT Master 1675 for sale here is a coveted Pepsi bezel edition of the famed pilot's watch featuring a red and blue aluminum bezel, a matte black dial, and Oyster bracelet.
This circa 1969 example is in overall beautiful and honest condition. This watch has a classic "Pepsi" GMT vibe with its vibrant "Pepsi" bezel and nicely aged lume. Collectors refer to this dial variation as a Mark I "Long E." When looking at the "Rolex" text on the dial the "E" has a longer central bar (same length as the top and bottom ones) and that is where the nickname comes from. I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
