Vintage Rolex GMT-Master 16750 - 'Pepsi' Bezel Insert
The Rolex GMT Master 16750 is a transitional reference, replacing the long-running 1675 and introducing the GMT Master line to the Quickset function via a higher beat calibre 3075 movement. Previously, the wearer had to wind the hands a full 24 hours to adjust the date complication, a task that now only requires a simple twist of the crown. The case also saw an upgrade in resistance from 50 meters to 100 meters. Other than these improvements and a few minor adjustments to the font and Rolex logo, the 16750 is almost identical to the widely sought-after 1675 and is an excellent choice for collectors who seek a classic men’s vintage GMT Master with some modern upgrades.
The GMT Master 16750 presents in a stainless steel finish that appears to remain unpolished and shows some signs of wear that are consistent with a watch of this age. The two-tone Pepsi dial has faded to some degree and the luminous hour markers and Mercedes hands now display the time in a lovely patina. The hour markers and hands are set on a matte black dial without white gold surrounds, making the ref. 16750 that is presented here today a rare find when compared to the more commonly found glossy dial variant. While there are many notable vintage options to choose from on the secondary market, the GMT Master 16750 pilot’s watch is an excellent choice to consider as it brings exceptional character and history to the line.

The watch was just as described, in fact, better than described online. The transaction was simple, secure, and seamless.
This was my first time working with Bob's and the process could not have been better from my perspective. The watch was a gift for my son who enjoys watches...this will be his 6th Rolex. I didn't participate in the conversations but he had several several questions which the staff fully answered. I entered when it was time to settle up. The customer service was great and the watch arrived very quickly. I'm not the the watch enthusiast in the family, but I see no reason why we wouldn't be looking for # 7 with Bob's as well.
