Vintage Watch Condition Examination:
This GMT-Master is in great vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The case is strong with normal signs of wear. The bezel insert has remained sharp and the insert is in great condition with some wear and scratches. The red-back bezel insert has developed a beautiful and unique fade throughout. The dial is in overall great condition with light patina. The lume on the dial has developed patina and aged to an attractive buttery yellow color. The hands have developed patina. The lume in the hands has aged to a yellow color, similar to the dial. The lume in the hour hand has a spot of repair and the lume in the GMT hand has been color corrected/relumed to match the other hands. The bracelet is in great condition with normal signs of wear.
Description: Vintage Rolex GMT-Master 1675 Pepsi
The GMT Master is Rolex’s signature pilot’s watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It’s one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because it’s instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards. Rolex initially used glossy dials in the 1675 until around 1966 and switched to matte dials. This circa 1978 example is in overall nice, honest vintage condition. It has developed a lovely athestic, from the buttery colored lume to the nicely aged "Pepsi" bezel. Rolex made a few different variations of the matte dial GMTs and this watch has what collectors refer to as a Mark 5 dial. The defining characteristic of this is the tall coronet and the placement of the "M" in "Master" over the "C" in chronometer, it divides the C and M. The great thing about vintage watches in general is how they all can age in different ways. One stand out feature on this GMT is the "Pepsi" bezel. It's aged in a way where the red portion is now an almost raspberry color and the blue has faded a bit, it really pops in the sunlight!

I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
