Vintage Watch Condition Examination
This Rolex watch is in vintage condition with light surface wear to the bracelet, case and bezel for its age. The case is in great condition with some wear and scratches, it has been polished. The hallmarks on the back of the lugs are clearly visible. The fluted bezel is a later replacement, this watch would have been born with a smooth bezel. The fluted bezel is in great condition. The sunburst dial and hands are in great condition and have developed patina. The hour markers and hands have developed patina. The lume on the dial and in the hands has turned to an attractive yellow color. The 14k USA bracelet is in great condition with some stretch between the links and it has been polished.
Rolex Oyster Perpetual 1002 Champagne Dial
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 1002 is a cult favorite, with decades of production under its belt and a vast selection of design set options to suit nearly any wrist. Ref. 1002 came to market sometime in the 1950s and remained in production until the 1980s. The example you see here is a lovely example of the all-gold OP in honest vintage condition. It sports the iconic Rolex waterproof Oyster case in 34mm surrounded by a fluted bezel. As a vintage Rolex, the case is outfitted with an older-style acrylic crystal, and the case back is stamped "1005." The champagne dial is decorated with yellow gold markers and hands, and Tritium lume in a buttery patina to match the golden tone of the dial itself. Finally, this Oyster Perpetual features a very nice American oval link Jubilee bracelet with 5-piece links - a classic edition of Rolex's famous time-only dress watch.
