The very first Oyster case was patented by Rolex in the 1920's and was Rolex's first waterproof case. Measuring 32mm and worn on a leather bracelet with a buckle clasp, the men's ref. 6044 is classy and subtle. A 15-jewel calibre 710 Manual-winding movement beats within the case and originally boasted shock resistant technology, a fact that Rolex printed directly on the dial. The dial also displays the time via small black Arabic markers and long, sweeping hour, minute, and seconds hands. The dial has aged handsomely, making it an instant collector's item.
