| Case: | Excellent case that has previously been lightly polished with wear consistent with age. Comes with a black bezel insert with missing pearl at 12 o'clock and shows some scratches from use. Inner caseback is stamped: 5513. Serial and reference numbers are crisp and clearly visible between the lugs. Acrylic crystal shows some wear. |

Vintage Rolex Submariner 5513
This 5513 is in overall great condition and has developed a lovely patina. In addition to being an excellent example, this watch has retained its original box, papers and accessories. We love it when all the little details line up and for this 5513, they do. When inspecting the box and papers you will notice that the papers have the serial number written in and that number corresponds to the number on the hang tag. The little "5513" sticker on the outside of the outer box also has the serial number hand written on it, this was most likely done at the original retailer. Something we have seen before. When looking inside the box the original caseback sticker is stuck to it also. With vintage Rolex it's the little details that set the same watches apart and finding original examples with the full kit is getting harder and harder.
Production for the Submariner 5512 and 5513 overlapped between the 1960s and 1970s. While both watches are similar in design and are powered by movements based on the same cal. 1530, the primary difference lies in the fact that ref. 5512 was chronometer-certified and ref. 5513 was not. Because this ref. 5513 does not have a COSC-rating, the dial only displays two lines of text below the hands. This small detail is coveted among Rolex enthusiasts. Other features include painted Tritium hour markers and Mercedes hands in a warm patina, crown guards, self-winding technology, and a 60-minute bezel.
