Tudor introduced its first Submariner in 1954, shortly after Rolex debuted its own in 1953. This pre-owned Tudor Submariner ref. 7016/0, dating to 1968, hails from the late 1960s. It was produced alongside the ref. 7021/0, which featured a date mechanism, while the 7016/0 kept things simple with a clean, time-only dial. The ref. 7016/0 saw various iterations before its discontinuation in the mid-1970s. This example features the earliest dial style carried over from the previous ref. 7928, characterized by white text, gilt minute markers, the iconic "Rose" logo, and the smiley "self-winding" text. The 7016 was the last Tudor Submariner to showcase the "Rose" logo until it reappeared in modern models. Vintage Tudor Submariners offer great value for those who appreciate the classic Rolex design but seek something uniquely their own.
