The GMT Master was a pioneer in luxury watchmaking technology when it debuted in the 1950s. At the time, the Pan American Company had just begun to offer Transatlantic flights from New York to Paris, and they needed a dual-time watch to issue their pilots. Rolex was up for the challenge, and the GMT Master was born. Its feature set includes an innovative movement that offers a dedicated hand on the dial as well as a 24-hour rotatable bezel. These features allow the wearer to read local and home time simultaneously, making the GMT Master an invaluable tool watch for avid travelers. The preowned Rolex 16700 is the last of the original GMT Masters produced and features a calibre 3175 movement, Tritium luminous plots in white gold surrounds, and a very desirable red and blue Pepsi bezel insert.
