Vintage Watch Condition Examination:
This Rolex watch is in great, honest vintage condition. The case is strong with scratches, nicks, and wear; the bevels are still visible. The bezel ring has remained sharp and the red-back bezel has scratches and shows signs of wear and fading throughout. This watch has retained its correct date wheel with closed 6s and hooked 7s. The dial is in overall great, honest condition and has remained glossy; it has some wear and patina and shows some wear along the edge. One spot of dial wear to note is between the center and three o'clock. The lume on the dial has aged to a lovely pale yellow color matching the hands quite nicely. Some of the lume plots show signs of degradation. The hands have developed patina. The minute hand shows a spot of lume repair. The later USA Jubilee bracelet is in overall great condition with wear and scratches throughout; it also has a bit of stretch between the links which is pretty common for this style bracelet. The crystal has some wear.
Description: Vintage Rolex GMT-Master 1675 Pepsi
The GMT Master is Rolex’s signature pilot’s watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It’s one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because it’s instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards. The example we have here is from 1966 and features a glossy dial, this would be the last glossy dial variation before Rolex went to the matte dials.
This watch is coming directly from the son of the original owner and remains in great, honest condition. The movement features an "ROW" stamp, which was the US import code for Rolex at the time and indicates that this was made for the US market. The original owner and eventually his son decided to hold on to the box and papers for all these years and we are glad they did! When looking inside the box we discovered that the original caseback sticker was stuck to the inside, we love these little details! From the well preserved bezel to the glossy dial, this GMT is a real stunner. If you have been looking for a glossy GMT with box and papers, this one is worth considering.

I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
