Then in 2024, Rolex did what it typically reserves for its most prestigious pieces: it introduced a platinum version with its signature ice blue dial. That dial is the real showstopper here. The guilloché rice-grain motif radiates outward from the small seconds at 6, creating a subtle, three-dimensional texture that feels far more traditional than anything Rolex had done in decades. Ice blue is reserved almost exclusively for platinum models, and here it pairs with Arabic numerals at 3, 9, and 12, faceted hour markers, and elegant hands that keep the overall look restrained. The slim platinum case features a unique bezel, part domed, part finely fluted, and is paired on a brown alligator strap with a platinum Dualclasp. Through the exhibition caseback, you can see the caliber 7140 with its Syloxi hairspring and 66-hour power reserve. It’s understated, heavy in the hand, and very deliberate. Not flashy.
