The pop sensation has great taste in Rolexes
Singer, songwriter, and actor, Nick Jonas may be young, but at 23 years old he has an enviable list of accomplishments under his belt. First rising to fame as part of the Jonas Brothers band with his brothers Kevin and Joe, Nick is now in the midst of a very successful solo career.
His single, Jealous, released in 2015 went double platinum, and he did what most of us authentic Rolex watch fans do when we accomplish something big – he rewarded himself with a new watch. In an interview with People, Nick said, “Last year after ‘Jealous’ went to number one, I bought myself a gold and silver Rolex with a black face. I pretty much wear it every day now.”
That gold and silver Rolex he’s referring to is none other than a two-tone Rolesor Rolex Submariner ref. 116613LN. The ultimate in luxury diving watches, the Sub ref. 116613LN is crafted in a mix of tough stainless steel and precious 18k yellow gold. As this is Rolex’s current Rolesor Submariner, it is equipped with the superb looking and ultra resilient black Cerachrom ceramic bezel. The Cerachrom material is not only scratch resistant, but also fade proof – this watch will keep its beauty for generations to come.

Also scratch resistant is the sapphire crystal protecting the face of the watch. Matching the black bezel is the black dial sporting the “Maxi” dial details with larger lume plots and broader hands for a sportier look than the ref. 116613LN’s predecessors. This being a date model of the Submariner, the date window is of course located at the 3 o’clock position and magnified by the Cyclops lens. Powering the Rolex Submariner 116613LN is the famous Rolex Caliber 3135 automatic mechanical movement-prized for its robustness, precision, and reliability. The movement is encased within an Oyster case outfitted with the Triplock winding crown and fluted caseback, thus can plunge down to 1,000 feet (300 meters).

A fan of leather and suede jackets in brown tones, the 40mm gold and steel Submariner is the perfect luxury watch for Nick’s look and celebrity status and we can’t blame him for never taking it off. The Sub 116613LN is not Nick’s first Rolex-prior to his new wrist gear he often wore his stainless steel Datejust II on a Jubilee bracelet. In fact, that’s the Rolex he wore in the official video of his monster hit, Jealous.
A dressier counterpart to the sporty Sub, the Datejust II still boasts masculine appeal thanks to its larger 41mm size. The intricate Jubilee bracelet is a classic Rolex design detail and adds a touch of elegance. Currently discontinued and replaced by the new Datejust 40 collection, the Datejust II series offered plenty of versatility with its wide range of metal options, dial colors, hour marker choices, and bezel designs.

Topping the charts, in the middle of a nation-wide tour, and racking up plenty of awards and accolades along the way, Nick is well deserving of his Rolex reward. It’ll be interesting to see which Rolex watch the popular celebrity will snap up next to commemorate another career milestone.
