Rolex Explorer II ref 16570

Rolex released the Explorer II in 1971. The edition you see here is highly refined in both design and function to provide the wearer with a reliable and extremely durable watch. Its design is rugged and purpose-driven, featuring a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a waterproof 40mm stainless steel case, and a flat-link Oyster bracelet with resilient stainless steel construction. The Explorer II is the perfect tool while working in dark environments and features a white Polar dial set with large black-trimmed luminous hour markers and hands. It also features a 24-hour engraved bezel paired with a red GMT hand that circles the dial once every 24 hours to help the wearer distinguish between night and day.
When ref. 16570 hit the market in the late 1980s, it sported the caliber 3185 automatic movement. However, it was eventually replaced with the caliber 3186 - the same movement powering the Polar dial Rolex Explorer II for sale here. During reference 16570's impressive production run, Rolex also upgraded the lume on the dial from Tritium to Luminova, and then Super-LumiNova like the example you see here. The perfect companion for your next adventure. Ref. 16570 bowed out in 2011 to make way for the 6-figit generation.

This is the first Rolex that I have ever owned, and I could not be more pleased with my purchase or my purchasing experience at Bob’s Watches! I love the stainless steel with the black face
This watch is perfect! It’s exactly what I wanted in terms of price, features and size. I originally bought a less expensive and smaller one but returned it for this one. Stacy was a HUGE help and walked me through the exchange process and I even got my new watch before Christmas! If you are debating between a less expensive or more expensive watch, get the more expensive one. You won’t regret it.
So, I own two Rolex watches. I was a little leery of buying a used watch as I never have. I loved all the photos of the watch being magnified times 10 of the actual watch. Then I talked to Tanya in customer service who answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable about my purchase. Also, advising me of their return policy if I wasn't satisfied with my watch. Finally my watch arrived and I was blown away. Despite being years old because it was discontinued it looked like it was brand new.
