Vintage Rolex Sea Dweller 1665
The Rolex Sea-Dweller came about as an evolution of the infamous Submariner. The first model 1665 watches produced were known as "Double Red Sea-Dwellers" and still featured the Submariner name on the dial. While these watches are considered highly collectable, it was the release of the "Great White" that helped this model breakaway from the Submariner and allowed it to grow into it's own category. The "Great White" is known as such because it is the first 1665 dial to replace the red writing with all white lettering. This watch features a 1570 movement with 26 jewels, an Original mark 1 dial, and the revolutionary helium escape valve which has become synonymous with the Sea-Dweller.
