Pre-owned Rolex Datejust OysterQuartz ref 17013 (1978) is a unique part of the brand's history. It was developed right in the middle of the Quartz Crisis, when traditional Swiss watchmaking was being challenged head-on by new technologies from overseas. The brand spent five years developing its own in-house quartz movement, resulting in one of the most robust and precise calibers the brand has ever produced. The Rolex OysterQuartz watch looks different by design. The sharp, angular case and integrated bracelet give it a distinctly late-'70s profile, setting it apart from the softer lines of the classic automatic Datejust. This variation is a popular two-tone Rolex 17013. It displays the time on the same time-and-date dial as any other DJ36, but is housed in a more architectural Oyster case and powered by a quartz movement.
