With a 41mm stainless steel case, engraved rotating bezel, and domed Hesalite crystal, this model revives the rugged charm and aviation-ready functionality of its mid-century predecessor. The matte black dial retains the original’s bold Arabic numerals and features tone-on-tone chronograph subdials, while the hand-applied Super-LumiNova has been specially tinted to mimic the warm patina of vintage lume. Inside ticks the hand-wound, COSC-certified Breitling caliber B09, based on the iconic B01 and built specifically for heritage-inspired pieces. Even the screw placements on the bezel are faithful to the original, with only two subtle modern updates: improved water resistance and the omission of “GENEVE” on the dial. Paired with a black leather strap and limited to 1,953 pieces, this Classic AVI is a collector’s homage to Breitling’s golden age of flight.
