Pre-owned/unworn Breitling Chronomat B01 42 ref AB0134101L1A1 carries a lot of history but still feels very current on the wrist. The Chronomat as we know it today traces back to the early 1980s, when Breitling brought back the mechanical chronograph in a big way, with bold cases and that famous rider tab bezel. That design is still front and center here. The 42mm steel case has some weight, and the bezel, with its four rider tabs, gives the watch its famous identity. This version has a green dial that shifts nicely in different lighting. The chronograph layout is clean and easy to read, with three sub-dials and a date window. It’s paired with the Rouleaux bracelet, which is a big part of the Chronomat look. Rounded links, very comfortable, and a little different from the usual oyster-style designs. Inside is the in-house Breitling caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronograph movement with a strong 70-hour power reserve.
