Just two years later, it was adopted by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, cementing its place as the definitive pilot’s watch during the golden age of aviation. Over the decades, it found its way onto the wrists of airline captains, astronauts, and cultural icons alike, proving its appeal extended well beyond the cockpit. This current-generation Navi stays faithful to those origins while refining the design for modern wear. The large 46mm case makes full use of polished and brushed red gold to emphasize the model’s instrument roots, while the flattened slide rule and domed crystal create a sleeker visual profile than earlier versions. The dial is thoughtfully updated with contemporary color tones, and the return of the AOPA wings at 12 o’clock pays homage directly to early Navitimers.
