Pre-owned Breitling Chronomat B01 42 ref. RB0134101B1S1 (2022) is one of those watches with real history that still feels current. The Chronomat dates back to 1984, when Breitling made a deliberate return to mechanical chronographs at a time when quartz was taking the market by storm. It was a bold move. And it worked. This version is more elevated. The 18k red gold case gives it weight and presence, while the anthracite dial is a bit more grounded. The signature rider-tab bezel is still here. It’s one of those design details that defines the Chronomat. Inside is the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronograph movement with a 70-hour power reserve. The black rubber strap gives the watch a very wearable feel, despite the gold case.
