Cartier started producing watches with fully in-house movements around 2010, with the launch of the 1904 MC caliber, the first automatic movement made by the French Maison. For those unfamiliar, "MC" stands for "Manufacture Cartier." That same movement is the engine driving the Cartier W7100041 for sale here, complete with a date display, small seconds, and centrally-mounted hours and minutes. The collection was destined to house Cartier's more masculine and sporty offerings, featuring a robust case shape and a sportier, more function-forward dial design. At the same time, there's something distinctively Cartier about this watch, from the classic Roman numeral hour markers to the sword-shaped hands and faceted crown decorated with a blue cabochon.
