As the story goes, Cartier developed the Santos in 1904 at the request of a Brazilian aviator and close friend of the Cartier founder who needed a more convenient way to tell the time while flying than the standard pocket watches. While it wasn't the first wristwatch, it was among the first developed for men. The Santos-Dumont legacy lives on today with a magnificent collection distinguished by square-shaped cases, bezels outfitted with visible screws, crowns decorated with blue cabochons, and the iconic Cartier Chemin de Fer minute track.
