Pre-owned Grand Seiko Elegance Collection ref. SBGW283 (2022), nicknamed "Kishun," takes inspiration from the changing seasons in northern Japan. Kishun refers to the first days of summer, when the skies above Mt. Iwate take on a delicate shade of pale blue. That beautiful color is captured on the dial, which features a soft blue finish complemented by sharply faceted hands and applied hour markers. The watch is produced at the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, where skilled craftsmen assemble and adjust the brand's mechanical movements. This example features a 37.3mm stainless steel case with gently curved lugs and a box-shaped sapphire crystal, giving it the proportions and character of a traditional dress watch. The simple three-hand dial has no date window, making the design clean and balanced. A crocodile leather strap complements the understated appearance. Inside is the manually wound Grand Seiko caliber 9S64, featuring a 72-hour power reserve and a rated accuracy of +5 to -3 seconds per day under controlled testing conditions. The beautifully finished movement is visible through a sapphire exhibition caseback secured by six screws.
