As part of the Evolution 9 Collection, this model builds upon the design language established by the iconic 44GS in 1967 while also featuring more contemporary proportions and enhanced ergonomics. The most captivating feature is the remarkable blue dial, with an intricate texture inspired by the tranquil surface of Japan's Lake Suwa just before dawn. As light plays across the dial, it evokes gentle ripples moving across the water, an effect made even more mesmerizing by Grand Seiko's signature Spring Drive seconds hand, which glides effortlessly rather than ticking. Powering the watch is the innovative Spring Drive caliber 9RA2 with a rather impressive five-day/120-hour power reserve. To preserve the dial's clean symmetry, the power reserve indicator has been relocated to the sapphire caseback, where the beautifully finished movement reveals Grand Seiko's "Shinshu Frost" decoration.
