Pre-owned Grand Seiko Heritage Collection ref SBGA413 (2024) “Shunbun” draws inspiration from Japan’s spring season, when cherry blossom petals fall and drift along rivers for a brief moment known as hana-ikada. That fleeting scene is reflected in the watch’s soft pink dial, whose textured surface subtly shifts in tone depending on the light. It’s a detail Grand Seiko has become famous for: dials that capture small moments from nature and translate them into something you can wear on the wrist. The case design reinterprets the historic 62GS from 1967, Grand Seiko’s first automatic mechanical watch. Its bezel-free construction allows the crystal to flow directly into the case, giving the watch a clean, expansive dial opening while highlighting the brand’s sharp Zaratsu-polished surfaces. The case and bracelet are crafted from High-Intensity Titanium, which is about 30% lighter than stainless steel and highly resistant to scratches and corrosion, making the watch noticeably comfortable for daily wear. Inside is the Spring Drive caliber 9R65, a hybrid movement that combines a mechanical mainspring with a quartz-regulated glide wheel for exceptional accuracy. It also features a power reserve indicator and offers around 72 hours of runtime when fully wound, along with the signature smooth sweeping seconds hand that has become a hallmark of Spring Drive.
