This pre-owned Grand Seiko Heritage Collection Sokō Special Edition Ref. SBGA427 (2024) features a 39mm stainless steel case paired with a light silver dial featuring a distinctive vertical texture inspired by the majestic stalks of Kyoto’s Arashiyama bamboo forest. Green accents on the seconds hand and power reserve indicator evoke the vibrant bamboo forest at the end of autumn, when the first frost embraces the forest. This “light” edition is powered by Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive Caliber 9R65, a hand-assembled movement created at the Shinshu Watch Studio in Japan that combines a traditional mainspring with an electromagnetic regulator for exceptional precision of approximately one second per day. The watch is fitted with a stainless steel bracelet and also includes a leather strap with a three-fold clasp and push-button release.

SBGA427 (2024), better known as the “Soko,” draws its inspiration from the end of autumn in Japan, when the first frost arrives, but traces of green still remain. Grand Seiko translates that moment onto a light silver dial with a fine vertical texture inspired by the tall stalks of Kyoto’s Arashiyama bamboo forest. Small green accents on the seconds hand and power reserve indicator provide a striking bit of contrast, representing the bamboo that remains vibrant as the seasons begin to change. The 39mm stainless steel case features the crisp lines and beautifully polished surfaces that Grand Seiko does so well, making this a particularly versatile size within the Heritage Collection. Inside is the Spring Drive caliber 9R65, hand-assembled at the Shinshu Watch Studio, with approximately 72 hours of power reserve.
