Pre-owned IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XX ref. IW328201 (2024) is a modern interpretation of the wonderfully straightforward instrument watches IWC has been making for generations. The 40mm stainless steel case is paired with a matching stainless steel bracelet, giving the classic pilot’s watch a slightly sportier, more substantial feel on the wrist. The matte black dial follows the traditional aviation-watch formula: high contrast, minimal distractions, and excellent legibility. Large Arabic numeral hour markers, bold hands, and the minute track are rendered in crisp white, with luminescent material providing visibility in low light. One of the most recognizable details sits at 12 o’clock, where a large triangle flanked by two dots takes the place of the traditional numeral. This design has roots in historic aviation watches, where the prominent marker helped pilots immediately identify the dial’s orientation and read the time at a glance, day or night. A practical date window sits at 3 o’clock. Inside is IWC’s manufacture caliber 32111 with hacking seconds and an impressive 120-hour power reserve.
