When the Rolex Datejust "Turn-o-Graph", aka Thunderbird, debuted in 1953, it was the first Rolex timepiece to offer a rotating timing bezel. As such, it was also the first-ever Rolex tool watch. The bezel was inspired by the world of flight and was intended to assist pilots in measuring increments of time while in the sky. The reference 116264 that is offered here today is a modern take on the classic Datejust Thunderbird. 904L stainless steel and brilliant 18 karat white gold combine to offer a virtually flawless and opulent finish. A black dial offers a handsome contrast and is topped with index hour markers, sweeping hands, a red seconds hand, and a red date wheel at the 3-hour marker. A broad lug case and three-link Oyster bracelet boast a masculine fit without overtaking the wrist, creating the ideal everyday companion.
