Pre-owned Rolex Explorer II ref 226570 (2023) hit the market in 2021, replacing ref. 216570. Both models are essentially the same, featuring a 42mm case, Oystersteel finish, striking orange "Freccione" arrow hand, and option for either a sharp black dial or white "Polar" dial with black-trimmed hour markers and hands. What sets the two models apart are the engines driving either watch. Ref. 216570 is powered by the caliber 3187 Perpetual movement, while the current-production ref. 226570 houses the new caliber 3285 with a 72-hour power reserve and Paraflex shock absorbers. It's modern, polarizing, and incredibly functional, with many characteristics avid collectors search for in a coveted Rolex sports watch.
Was curious about what “Excellent” condition means at Bob’s. When the watch arrived, I was blown away by the quality of the polishing job of the watchmaker at Bob’s. For all intents and purposes the watch looked new unworn. I next put it on my Timegrapher to see how it well it was running and was super happy. While wearing it the past 3wks it runs pretty consistently at -1.5s/d well within the +-2s/d Rolex states. I am happy to add this to my collection and would not hesitate to buy another watch from Bob’s in the future.
