Pre-owned Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional ref 311.30.42.30.01.005 (2015) is a particularly traditional version of the watch forever linked to NASA and the Apollo program. The Speedmaster became the first watch worn on the Moon in 1969 and accompanied astronauts on all six lunar landings, establishing a history few chronographs can match. This generation stays very close to that familiar formula, with a 42mm stainless steel case, black dial with three recessed registers, and a black tachymeter bezel. Most importantly for Moonwatch purists, the dial is protected by Hesalite rather than sapphire, maintaining an important connection to the Speedmasters used during the Apollo era. Inside is the manually wound caliber 1861, a direct descendant of the movement used in the watches worn on the Moon and the longtime workhorse of the modern Moonwatch before Omega introduced the caliber 3861 generation. This example is paired with its stainless steel bracelet.
