Vintage Omega Flightmaster Ref 145.013 is in overall great vintage condition. The case is in great condition with normal signs of wear, scratches and some nicks; the sun-burst finish is still clearly visible. The caseback shows some wear and still has the "flightmaster" text and logo visible. The sun-burst finish is still visible on the caseback too.The internal rotating bezel is functional and shows some wear and patina. The inside caseback is stamped "145.013." The paint has worn off of the push buttons and crowns except for the one at 10 o'clock that has blue paint that corresponds to the blue hand. The dial is in overall great condition with light wear and patina. The lume has developed patina and aged to an attractive pale yellow color; some lume plots show signs of degradation. The hands have developed light patina and the lume in the hands matches the lume on the dial nicely; the lume in the blue hand has a slight crack. This watch has an Omega 1159 bracelet with no. 155 end links and 19 links. The bracelet is in overall great condition with normal signs of wear and a bit of of stretch between the links which is not uncommon for this style bracelet. The clasp has some marks. The clasp shows signs of polishing. The crystal is an Omega service replacement.
Vintage Omega Flightmaster Ref 145.013 (circa 1970) is an interesting and fairly uncommon watch. Omega produced the Flightmaster for less than 10 years, it came out in 1969 and was discontinued around 1977. The collection was developed as a navigational tool for pilots and other world travelers, including the crew of the Concorde British Airways and Soviet Cosmonauts. During its production, two generations came to market distinguished by either the caliber 911 or 910 movement. Omega only made four different models of the Flightmaster; the ref. 145.013, like this watch, ref. 145.026, ref. 145.036, and solid gold ref. BA 345.0801.
This example features the 910 movement and yellow hand color way. This is from the first generation of Flightmasters and the dial features a 24 hour register at nine o'clock, later references would have the running seconds. The register is half green adding to the quirkiness of this watch.
