This Omega watch is in great vintage condition. The case is strong with wear and some scratches, it has been polished. The "Speedmaster" writing and hippocampus logo on the caseback are visible with signs of polishing and the caseback has scratches. The bezel is in great condition with some wear and scratches; it has a couple indentations and nicks around the metal edge. The hands, crown, dustcover, and crystal are later Omega service replacements. The step dial is in overall very nice, attractive condition with some wear; it has a spot in the seconds register and a slight scratch in the hours register (this is hard to notice). The lume has all aged to a pale yellow color, some plots have developed some darker patina. Some of the lume plots show signs of degradation.
The Omega 145.012 was the last of the Speedmasters to use the famous original caliber 321 hand-wound movement before it was replaced with the caliber 861. It was also the last to feature the drop counter weight on the end of the seconds hand. If you love a vintage watch with intriguing history, this Omega Speedmaster delivers. The reference 145.012 was worn on the wrist of multiple astronauts during Apollo 11, Apollo 14 and Apollo-Soyuz missions.
Other features we think you will appreciate on this reference are the classic step dial with an applied Omega logo, both of these elements add depth to the dial. This also has the classic Professional asymmetrical case that many die-hard collectors adore with twisted "Lyre" lugs and a black dot over 90 (DON) Tachymeter bezel.
