The Omega Speedmaster notoriously edged out the Rolex Cosmograph in a bid to become the official watch of NASA. While both timepieces offered a chronograph movement and a Tachymeter bezel, the Speedmaster was the chosen watch and would accompany astronauts on all six lunar missions, including the history-making first lunar landing during which Buzz Aldrin was wearing a Speedmaster. The Speedmaster is instantly recognizable, offering a stainless steel finish, black dial with a luminous display, and a slim black Tachymeter bezel. The vintage Omega 145.022 runs on a calibre 861 movement and features a nicely aged bezel and patina dial.
