Pre-owned Patek Philippe Chronograph ref 5170J-001 (2011) initially came to market in 2010, replacing the ref. 5070. Originally, the watch had a dial decorated with Roman numerals at the 6 and 12 o'clock markers, replaced later with Breguet-style hour markers. The Patek 5170J-001 for sale here is the earlier dial version and is widely sought after by collectors in the know. The caliber CH 29-535 PS manual-winding movement is the engine driving this classic gold Patek, featuring a column wheel chronograph, small seconds, and central hands for hours and minutes. The two sub-dials sit just below the center of the dial, a small detail many collectors have noted over the years. Furthermore, this model sports a pulsometer scale instead of the traditional tachymeter scale and a smaller 39mm case (compared to its 42mm predecessor, ref. 5070.)
My 2nd watch and I am very happy I chose the Grand Complications this time. I have been wearing it all week.
One of many Patek watches to add to my collection; this one is a little bit special. The 18k rose gold doesn’t do enough justice in the world pictures. 😏
