Pre-owned Patek Philippe Ellipse ref 3546 circa 1970s was originally retailed by the Swiss retailer Gubelin. Gubelin has been a family owned Swiss retailer of watches and jewelery since 1854. Gubelin was a Patek retailer and some of the watches they sold would have the retailer stamp on the dial. We have seen other brands with the signature on the dial as-well like Audemars Piguet; Gubelin also sold watches under their own brand as well.
The watch we have here is a part of the Ellipse family, but unlike the more classic Ellipse model, this reference has lugs adding a bit of dimension to the watch especially from the side. This example is complete with its matching solid gold "ellipse" style Patek buckle. The dial is gold with a slight texture to it with the classic painted Roman numeral hour markers.
The blue dial looks great. This is my new daily watch to wear.
